£1 (also shown as 1l.) was 20 shillings.
1 shilling (1s.) was 12 pence. Also often known as a ‘bob’, as in “I paid six bob for this”,
Thus there were 240 pence (20 x 12) to every pound.
Other Victorian words to do with currency:-
1 guinea was £1 1s. (Or 21 shillings) a pound with an additional shilling.
1 crown was five shillings. (And half-crown two and a half shillings)
A half-sovereign ten shillings.
1 farthing was a ¼ penny.
Mining asteroids for metals!
Corporate start-up evidently devoted to mining asteroids for metals is to make its public debut on Tuesday in the US northwest city of Seattle.
X Prize founder Peter Diamandis and a former NASA astronaut are slated to unveil Planetary Resources, which boasts an impressive list of backers including Google co-founder Larry Page and famed film-maker James Cameron.
“The company will overlay two critical sectors - space exploration and natural resources - to add trillions of dollars to the global GDP,” Planetary Resources said in a brief release on Friday announcing Tuesday’s press event in Seattle.
“This innovative start-up will create a new industry and a new definition of ‘natural resources’.”

Affirmatively, delivery will be made to your address within 72 hours on
confirmation of the above charges.
Be aware that the delivery fee receipt will be attached to your payment
delivery document to avoid delay at the customs.
Please advice the preferred time of visitation to deliver so that we can inform
